Ayurveda Wellness Retreat Package

Ayurveda is holistic system of healthcare that promotes longevity and rejuvenation.

Spend two nights with us during the week (Monday - Thursday) and get an Ayurvedic Consultation with Saadia Shaza, Yoga and Pranayam session with Nicole Jaquis and an Ayurvedic Massage with Hannah Kate.

Packages start at $480 + tax for single occupancy.

During an Ayurvedic consultation, Saadia will address a person’s health concerns from a physical, emotional and spiritual perspective. She will look into specific ways of treating a person based upon their unique body type or dosha and determine the root of the problem. In a typical evaluation, a complete medical and lifestyle history will be taken. Diagnosis of a person’s imbalance is based upon this as well as pulse analysis, examination of the tongue, eyes, nails, and facial lines. Through this assessment, a personalized health plan is formulated, including recommendations on diet, optimum daily routines, nutritional and herbal supplements, stress management through breathing practices, meditation, and yoga.

Saadia is an Ayurvedic Health Practitioner (trained under Dr. Vasant Lad), Birth and Postpartum Doula (DONA) and Ayur-Yoga Instructor. In 2011, Saadia's private practice, Simply Ayurveda in NYC, opened it's doors. Since then, she has been guiding others into deeper harmony with their own natures by using dietary and herbal support as well as suggesting daily practices designed specifically to enhance health and vitality. Saadia's natural ability to lead others to participate in cultivating their full potential is supported by her deep connection to the wisdom of the botanical kingdom (plants & herbs) as well as her vast training in Ayurveda, a 5000 year-old system of knowledge that remains powerfully relevant in modern times. She is an intuitive, a wizard pulse-reader, herbalist, top-notch mehndi doodler, early-childhood educator and she loves to make ghee, broths and taking baths. In 2016, Simply Ayurveda relocated from NYC to it's new home at the healing center at Race Brook Lodge in the Berkshires, MA.

After meeting with Saadia regarding your Ayurvedic Consultation, Nicole Jaquis will design and lead you through a series various cleansing kriyas, asanas and pranayam (breath expansion exercises), in alignment with your particular dosha, for you to incorporate into your daily routine. With her ability to hold space for you that feels both safe and self-empowering, private sessions will give you a chance to work on specific (physical or emotional) issues needed to be cleared, while giving you the foundations necessary to cultivate a balanced state of mind.

In the evening enjoy a unique and powerful bodywork session with Hannah. Combining her knowledge of alignment of the physical body through her study of structural integration, with her understanding of the energetic and subtle bodies through Ayurveda, each session is individually designed to nourish and restore balance to the mind, body and soul. Using deep pressure and warm herbal oil, each session will release mental and physical stress and leave you feeling replenished!

Documentary Film-making and photography brought Nicole Jaquis to India in December 2000; where eventually as the search for good characters became the search for good gurus, the lessons got deeper and deeper, and the filmmaker / photographer / writer (herself) got so engrossed in being (present) in the moment, soaking up all the wisdom she could digest, that actually doing sadhana began to take precedence over documenting it.

However she does have 500 hrs Hatha Yoga Teacher Training, 200 hrs Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Training and 100 hours Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra certificates, her real training in the Hatha Tantra Tradition comes from living among the Naga Sanyasis of Shri Panch Dashnaam Juna Akhara (the oldest and largest organization of ascetic renunciate yogis).

Her Sadhana Training in the traditional seven limbed Hatha Tantra Yoga system consists of: shatkarma (seasonal and daily cleanses and detoxes), asana (postures), mudra (gestures for connecting one’s individual pranic flow with the universal or cosmic force), pratyahar (concentration towards removal of disturbance from sensory input), pranayama (expansion of the breath and prana / vital engery), meditation (uninterrupted blissful flow of pranic energy), and ultimate samadhi (complete balance of the mind in all situations); Sukshma Vyayām (subtle pranic exercises); Vipassana Meditation (as taught by S.N. Goenka); Yogic / Sanathan Dharmic / Buddhist Philosophy; Karma Yoga (seva – selfless service towards others, without concern or attachment to the fruits of one’s labor); Swadhaya (independent study and introspective study of the self).

She has been working at Race Brook Lodge since March 2017, having temporarily returned to the States after living consistently in North India for nearly seven years.

Hannah Kate Dwyer joins our team with a depth of knowledge and experience in the ocean of Ayurveda and Yoga.  Having studied with Dr. Vasant Lad for over 1500 hours at the Ayurvedic Institute, and having been trained at his Panchakarma clinic in India, she is deeply influenced by the art of mindfulness with which Dr. Lad approaches each moment and each client.  Understanding the subtle energetic pathways, Hannah works with each client hoping to help them find a state of bliss and ease in their sessions that they can translate into their daily living.

Hannah also brings with her a profound understanding of alignment and anatomy having completed a 750 hour training at the Pacific Center for Awareness and Bodywork in Kilauea, Kaua’i, where she studied Structural Integration.  She has also competed two 200 hour Yoga Teacher Trainings, one with Yogrishi Vishvaketu in Rishikesh, India, and one with Dr. Lad concurrent with her studies at the Ayurvedic Institute.  Combining her trainings in Ayurveda, Massage, and Yoga with her tremendous self-study Hannah crafts each session to fit you uniquely, attuning breath with movement,  adjusting strokes and pressure, and choosing herbal oils and poultices to help you radiate as you step off of the table and into the pulse of the daily life.  Enchanted by the Sanskrit language and the use of sound as medicine, clients can also look forward to each session beginning and ending with ancient Sanskrit prayers.
