“Rick and Marilyn” is an electro-acoustic Americana / Blues / Folk duo out of Hudson, NY. Marilyn writes the songs, plays acoustic guitar and sings, while Rick provides tasteful accompaniment on acoustic or electric guitar.
Guitarist Rick Warren, influenced by Jimi Hendrix, Pete Townsend, Larry Coryell, Karl Berger, and John McLaughlin, also plays with ‘Doc Horton and the Jay Street Band’, a Motown band, as well as supporting Slink Moss in ‘The Magic Stones’ and creating Soundscape compositions of his own. He has a reputation for giving the song exactly what it needs, telling ‘the rest of the story’ with his soulful solos.
Singer-songwriter Marilyn Miller was known for leading Open Jams at venues in Hudson for many years. These days, when not with Rick, you will find her performing solo, with the loosely organized Hudson Busk in the Hudson streets, the bluegrass band Beer-Stained Fiddle, and as a duo with Betsi Krisniski. Her strengths lie in her powerful voice and melodic arrangements of her own tunes and the covers she loves.
Marilyn is excited to announce the recent release of her album, 'What's on my Mind', a collection of songs exploring the life of a mature single woman. It can be heard on her website, www.MarilynMillerMusic.com or www.RickandMarilyn.com, along with videos.
