Los Angeles based, Swiss-born and Freelance guitarist/composer Antoine Salem has performed, written and recorded music professionally since the early '90s, he has toured internationally and worked in collaboration with artists across the globe including George Clinton, Praz -of the Fugees, Brenna Whitaker, Tita Lima, Bob Moses, Miguel Atwood Ferguson, Robby Marshall, Clare Muldaur, Lionel Loueke -of Herbie Hancock, Doug Gibbs -of Earth Wind & Fire, Andre Fisher -of Rufus, Cora Coleman Dunham -of Prince/Byoncé, Amerie, Ben Westbeech, DJ Sneak and many more.
After growing up in Switzerland where he studied music and started to record/tour EU with his own projects (opening for such greats as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ben Harper, Roy Ayers, BB King, Tower of Power and many more), he was offered a scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston where he studied for three years and met musicians from all around the world. After graduation, he moved to Los Angeles where he continues to write, perform and produce music.
As a composer and tunesmith, his music and songs have been featured on several independent films and numerous TV shows such as ABC's Brothers And Sisters and many more. Aside from developing his music library and a few personal side projects, he currently writes for and performs/tours (in the US and EU) with Shoestring Trio and with Hale May.
Antoine also openly collaborates with many other artists, musicians, singer-songwriters, dancers, yogis, filmmakers, and photographers. On the music education side of things, he has been a faculty member at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood for the Independent Artist Program since 2015.
The Swiss press has called him « the most talented guitarist of his generation to come out of the region. » The LA press described him as an "amazing 'world Jazz' guitarist and a truly gifted composer".
