Saturday nights at the Campfire! Join us for a informal and intimate, interactive musical gathering with a rotating collective of musicians from the local community and beyond. Feel free to bring an instrument or just come hang out. There’s no cover and all are welcome!
On July 20th the Campfire Jam will be hosted by Philip Roebuck. Phil is a singer/songwriter from Virginia, who plays resonator guitar and drums at the same time, and he is accompanied by Julian Crouch on washboard and wooden spoons. The vivacious repertoire covers a wide spectrum of roots & folk music — blues, gospel, old time & bluegrass, sea chanties, and of course some tearjerkers. Dancing shoes encouraged!

Phillip roebuck
A fusion of high energy heartrending vocals with boot splitting multi-instrumental virtuosity. Roebuck shepherds audiences through his Appalachian heritage with a trance-like vitality of an old time medicine show. With punk rock intensity, Roebuck stomps out beats on a classic, depression-era drum apparatus, while strumming the banjo with a fierce ragged-but-right style. Some might call it Roots music for the new millennium. Songs over a century old as well as originals come alive in his hands , at times with a haunting sweetness and at times with a demonic desperation. His music can be defined simply as a practice of "transporting."
